Our world is filled with contradictions, Beirut is probably the capital of this world!
If I were to name a few of those contradictions particular to my city, I wouldn’t even know where to start.
One which you see everyday is the clash between the torn down homes and major lack of infrastructure in one of the most expensive and unaffordable areas in the city.
Some regulars, could get used to this, but people who come in rarely, are likely to get shocked at this site!
Having said that, it is important for me to mention that some of the biggest charms of the city in my eyes are its contradictions; its love and hate relationship with people, its sense of being far from home but always feeling like home.
In the below pictures I got to capture some shots in an example one of those contradictory areas. Ironically, it happens to one of my favourite, Achrafieh.
Here I am wearing, an Elie Saab shirt, Andrea Wazen Shoes, and a Gucci bag.
On a side note, I am loving the Gucci monogram comeback! And speaking of contradictions, Alessandro Michel, creative director, turned something which could’ve once been perceived as tacky into something trendy! I never thought I would be able to wear monogram again, and hear I am writing about how much I am loving it…
